| Reciprocal links are good, but the most important thing to remember is, it's links that point TO your site (one way links) that are the ones that really help your SEO. Links that point FROM your site to other sites are good to have because they help your visitors find related material, but if your site doesn't lend itself to linking to other sites "for sure" don't do it. When you are linking to actual pages of useful information inside another site that deal with topics related to what you are writing about and they in turn link back to your article ucl (internal webpage) for the same reason, that's true reciprocal deep linking. And with true reciprocal deep linking, most of the time the links are not going back and forward to the same pages. This isn't the typical cross link tactic where you just cross link between a bunch of home pages. Ineffective Reciprocal Linking Reciprocal linking becomes ineffective when you subscribe to some kind of reciprocal linking program where everyone links back and forth to each others main domain or home page.. Search engines are intelligent enough to see through this and recognize that it is not natural linking process. Most of the sites you will be receiving links from in this scenario will be of low quality and carry very little authority.
